State of Breakfast in Fast-Food and Casual Dining Restaurants 2007

SKU REPORTS-BREAKFAST

To help clients capitalize on opportunities in the increasingly important breakfast daypart, Sandelman & Associates analyzed data from its National Quick-Track® and Casual-Track® (All Markets) studies and developed this special report.

While breakfast accounts for a relatively small portion of quick-service restaurant and casual dining business, the daypart is an important battlefield in the competitive restaurant business. For some casual dining chains, especially the family dining chains, breakfast is critical.

It's particularly helpful to analyze who is supporting the breakfast business in both segments, side by side. There are some important differences with respect to usage segments and demographics that restaurant operators and suppliers need to consider.

Restaurant chain operators and suppliers can make better operations and marketing decisions thanks to this report. The report explores contribution to quick-service and casual dining breakfast purchases by usage and age, gender, income and ethnicity, plus share of QSR and CDR breakfast occasions by service mode, chain type and chain. Customers also will benefit from QSR and CDR breakfast last purchase occasion profiles, which feature analysis of spending per person and use of promotions.

The report includes a PowerPoint presentation of the findings with a bullet point summary of each key measure and an Executive Summary. It also includes Excel tables that detail all key data for each measure broken out by heaviness of QSR usage, chain type usage, gender and age. Five-year trend data (2002 to 2006) is provided for the quick-service restaurant segment. 2006 data only is provided for the casual dining segment.

This report can either be e-mailed as PowerPoint & Excel files or can be shipped in a spiral bound format.
